Word: The Frost Place Poetry Center is partnering with us to pair the evening's music with exquisite poems and translations by masterful German poetic translators.

Song: Celebrated mezzo soprano, Thea Lobo*, will take us on the next step of our journey, pairing text with melody.

Masterpiece: Having heard the poem and the song it is based upon, we listen to Schubert's "Trout" Quintet as if for the first time.

Klughardt: Schilflieder (Song of the Reeds) for Viola, Oboe, & Piano

Schubert, Brahms: Selected Songs

Schubert: Trout Quintet

*Due to a medical emergency, Virginia Warnken will not be singing in this concert. We wish Virginia heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery, and thank Thea Lobo for sharing her beautiful artistry with us at short notice.
